Sebring, Fla. – The Indiana Tech men’s golf team was in Sebring, Florida at Sun N’ Lake Golf & Country Club for the 3rd Annual Warner University Classic on Sunday through Tuesday to open the spring portion of their schedule.
The Warriors finished ninth out of the nine team field shooting a 671 two-round total. Tech shot an opening day 344, but shook off the rust on the second day firing a 327.
Northwood won the event with a 590 while Webber International and Laval followed to round out the top three with a 601 and 602.
Leading the way for the Warriors was the sophomore duo of Nate Kolmerten and Tom Kocks. Kolmerten shot an 88 through the first 18 holes, but bounced back with a 76 to finish in 40th place with a 164. Kocks also carded an opening round 88, but shot eight strokes better in the next round to place 42nd with a 168.
Ethan Galloway, Zach Wetzel, and Tyler Willette all finished within two strokes of each other. Galloway turned in a 36-hole total of 171 while Wetzel had a 172 and Willette had a 173.
Up next, the Warriors will host the annual Thrill at the Hill at the Donald Ross Hill Course in French Lick, Indiana on Mar. 25-26.
