Fort Wayne, Ind. – After a month layoff, the Indiana Tech men’s golf team was back on the links for the University of Saint Francis Cougar Spring Invitational over the weekend held at Brookwood Golf Club.
Indiana Tech finished in sixth place out of the 11 teams competing with a two-day total of 625. Bethel College won the event with a 588. Hope College and Huntington University followed with a 596 and 598.
The Warriors stood in sixth after turning in a 306 in Friday’s opening round, but couldn’t make up any ground on Saturday with a score of 319.
Nate Kolmerten continued his impressive sophomore campaign with a 17th place finish. He shot a two-over 74 in the first round and a 78 in the second for a 36-hole total of 152. Tom Kocks and Ethan Galloway followed in 29th place with matching scores of 157. Kocks carded rounds of 76 and 81 while Galloway turned in a 78 and 79.
Tyler Willette and Zach Wetzel were close behind finishing in 35th and 40th. Through the first 18 holes, Willette and Wetzel shot 78’s, and capped off the weekend with an 81 and 83, respectively.
The Warriors return to action on Monday, Apr. 8 at the Bethel College Spring Sprint held at Knollwood Country Club in Granger, Indiana.
