Granger, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men’s golf team had a quick turnaround and was back in action after a short two day break at the Bethel College Spring Sprint on Monday held at Knollwood Country Club.
Indiana Tech finished tied for third out of the five teams competing with a two-round total of 634. Bethel won the event with a 615. Mt. Vernon Nazarene University came in second with a 621 and Grace College shared third with Tech.
The Warriors stood in fifth following the first round after turning in a 319, but they made up some ground in the second round with a score of 315.
Nate Kolmerten paced the Warriors with a seventh place finish. He shot an 82 in the first round and a three-over 75 in the second for a 36-hole total of 157. Tyler Willette shot a pair of 79’s and finished eighth with a 158. Tom Kocks followed in 13th place with a score of 159 (81/78).
Rounding out the Tech contingent was Zach Wetzel in 18th with a final score of 163 (77/86), Jamaal Jones in 24th place with a 167 (84/83) and Ethan Galloway in 33rd with a 182 (96/86).
The Warriors are back on the course on Monday, Apr. 15 at the Cereal City Shootout at Battle Creek Country Club in Battle Creek, Michigan.
