Decatur, Ill. – Megan Garrison and Julia Browning finished in the top five to help lead the Indiana Tech women’s golf team to a second place finish at the Millikin University Spring Classic over the weekend.
After a 357 in the first round on Friday, the Warriors came back with a 347 on Saturday, which tied for the best team score of the day, to finish with a 704. Tech finished 14 shots back of winner Marian University who had a 690. Host school Millikin came in third with a 718.
Garrison turned in rounds of 85 and 84 to place fourth overall with a 36-hole score of 169, her eighth top-five finish of the season. Browning was right behind her in fifth place with a 172. Following an opening round 89, she fired an 83 over the final 18-holes to earn her second top-five finish.
Coming off her best performance of the season, freshman Rachel George finished in the top-10 again in eighth place with a total score of 177 (90/87). Katie Clouse came in 21st place with a 188 (93/95) and Haley Larson finished in 24th with a 190 (97/93).
The Warriors return to the links on Monday, Apr. 15 for the first round of the Georgetown College Bluegrass Spring Classic in Georgetown, Kentucky.
