RESULTS | EAST MOLINE, Ill. –The Indiana Tech men's golf team had its worst round of the tournament on the final day of the Ashford University Fall Invite, carding a 314 for a tournament total of 931 (308-309-314), placing seventh overall at the Short Hills Country Club on Tuesday.
Zach Wetzel and Tyler Willette each carded the low round of the day for the Warriors with 77’s while Wetzel finished tied for 15th with a 54-hole total of 229 (76-76-77) and Willette finishes tied for 30th with a two-day total of 237 (77-83-77).
Brandon Bailey shot a final round 79 to finish the tournament with a 234 (77-78-79), finishing just outside the top-25 in 26th. Tom Kocks second 81 of the tournament gave him a 236 (81-74-81) and placed him 28th while Nate Kolmerten finished with a 244 (78-81-85).
Bellevue won the event by 31 strokes with an 865 (291-281-293) with three players tying for the top spot at two-under par, while Mount Mercy finished with an 896 (302-298-296) led by Matt Schlueter who also tied for first with a 214. St. Ambrose (297-304-299=900), the host Saints (304-286-311=901) and Augustana (305-307-315=927) rounded out the top five.
The Warriors return to the course on Friday, Oct. 4 when they take part in the USF Fall Invitational at the Brookwood Golf Course in Fort Wayne, Ind. hosted by the University of St. Francis.
