FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men’s golf team sits in eighth place after the first round of the 11-team USF Fall Invitational that was played at the Brookwood Country Club on Friday.
The Warriors shot a 304 and were led by a three-over 75 from Brandon Bailey. Tom Kocks and Tyler Willette each carded a 76 and Zach Wetzel added a 77 for the Warriors. Nate Kolmerten rounded out the scoring for the Indiana Tech “A” team with a 93.
The second team competing for the Warriors was led by Tyler Turnwald who matched Bailey for the low team score with a 75 while Ethan Galloway added a 79. Zach Clouse carded an 84 and Dan Novitski shot a first round 89 to round out the day for the Warriors.
Indiana Wesleyan leads the event with a 293, two strokes better than Spring Arbor and Siena Heights who are tied for second with 295. Madonna is currently fourth with a 300 while the host Cougars of St. Francis is tied with Bethel and Mt. Vernon Nazarene for fifth after a first round 302.
The Warriors conclude play at the University of St. Francis Fall Invitational tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.
