Ft. Wayne, IN – The Indiana Tech men’s lacrosse team was victorious in the program’s first ever home game on Friday night as they knocked off the Rockets, 11-4.
Nicholas Lichtsinn (Ft. Wayne, IN) scored the first goal 1:57 into the game. Matt Fedyck (Fergus, ON/Centre Wellington District HS) led the Warriors in scoring with four goals and Craig Schaepkens (Davison, MI/Davison HS) scored twice and had one assist. Dylan Johnston (Oshawa, ON/All Saints Catholic HS) picked up five groundballs and Mike Matthews (Roswell, GA/Roswell HS) had four. The Warriors dominated the face-offs with Zac Peterson (Plymouth, MN/Wayzata HS) winning six and Christopher Miller (Salem, OR/Sprague HS) taking four.
The Warriors defense played outstanding as well, killing 3-of-4 Toledo man-up opportunities. Jordon Steptoe (Ellicott City, MD/River Hill HS) finished the game with six saves.
The Warriors are back in action Friday, April 9 when they host Ball State for Parent’s Weekend. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
