Indianapolis, Ind. – The 16th ranked Indiana Tech men’s lacrosse team won its third straight contest on Saturday with a 19-5 road victory over CCLA foe Butler University, handing the Bulldogs their first conference loss of the season.
The win bumps Tech to 6-4 on the year and keeps the Warriors perfect in CCLA play with a 3-0 mark while Butler falls to 4-5 overall and 2-1 in the league.
The Warriors took a 7-1 lead into halftime and coasted to the 19-5 victory.
Sophomore Josh Puckett (Mason, OH/Mason) tied his season-high with five goals to lead the Warriors. Junior Brent Nichter (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Luers) and freshman Dan Schaepkens (Davison, MI/Davison) added three goals each. Junior Craig Schaepkens (Davison, MI/Davison) chipped in two goals and handed out a career-high seven assists.
Sophomore Tony Loftus (Fishers, IN/Hamilton Southeastern) and junior Gabe Stulp (Rockford, MI/Rockford) combined for eight saves in goal for Tech.
Up next, the Warriors will try to avenge their 2011 postseason loss to Hope College when they travel to Holland, Michigan on Friday, April 13 for a clash with the No. 19 Flying Dutchmen.
