Fort Wayne, Ind. –The Indiana Tech men’s Lacrosse team has announced the schedule for its 2012-13 season. Head Coach Terry Nichter and his Warriors will open the season on Oct. 14 in Grand Rapids, Michigan for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Fall Tournament.
This season will mark the first for lacrosse as a WHAC sport. Aquinas College, Lawrence Tech, and Davenport University, along with Tech, will all field teams this season.
The Warriors will have one more fall date on their schedule when they take on Purdue University on Oct. 20 in West Lafayette.
Tech will open the Spring portion of its schedule on Mar. 1-2 in St. Paul, Minnesota where the Warriors will faceoff against two of the toughest teams in the country. First, they will meet North Dakota State University, who finished at No. 8 in the final Coaches Top 25 Poll last year, followed by the 2012 MCLA National Champions University of St. Thomas.
The slate won’t get any easier for the Warriors as they will clash with five more teams that finished the 2012 season ranked in the MCLA DII Top 25 Poll.
Tech’s first home game will be on Friday, Mar. 15th at 7 p.m. against one of those squads, Liberty College. Then the following weekend the Warriors will host Washington University-St. Louis on Saturday, Mar. 23rd at 3 p.m.
Then the Warriors will be on the road for the next three games, including the WHAC Championships on Mar. 30 before returning home for a four game stretch.
Highlighting the homestand will be back-to-back matchups with perennial powers University of Dayton and Grand Valley State University on Parent’s Weekend on Apr. 12-13.
The Warriors will then look to make another postseason push as the CCLA playoffs begin on Apr. 27.
