Fort Wayne, Ind. – Craig Schaepkens and Josh Puckett combined for 11 goals to lead the 16th ranked Indiana Tech men’s lacrosse team to an 18-3 win over No. 20 Washington University-St. Louis in their home opener on Saturday.
The Warriors dominated the game from the opening faceoff until the final whistle. After taking a 7-2 lead into halftime, Tech outscored the Bears 11-1 over the final 30 minutes to earn their first win of the season.
Schaepkens scored a career-high six goals and added three assists while Puckett found the back of the net five times and also handed out three assists. Nick Lichtsinn chipped in two goals. Dylan Johnston and Adam Macciomei grabbed eight ground balls each while Macciomei went 14-for-20 on faceoffs. Justin Famiglietti and Tony Loftus made four saves apiece in goal for Tech.
The Warriors (1-3) are back in action on Monday, Mar. 25 against No. 3 St. John’s in Northbrook, Illinois beginning at 1 p.m.
