Fort Wayne, Ind. – Indiana Tech’s Reece Richardson (Halifax, England/Ryburn Valley) has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Defensive Player of the Week for men’s soccer.
The 6-5 junior keeper helped the Warriors hold 16th ranked Ashford to a 2-2 tie after two overtimes. Richardson made a season-high 12 saves in the game. He finished the regular season with 89 saves and a 0.840 save percentage while posting a 0.89 goals against average, which led the WHAC and ranked 13th in the NAIA.
The Warriors (10-6-3, 6-2-2 WHAC) season came to an end on Nov. 4 in a WHAC Tournament Quarterfinal loss to Marygrove College, falling to the Mustangs 2-1 in double overtime.
