Fort Wayne, Ind. – The National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) have announced the NAIA men’s soccer all-region teams and two Indiana Tech players were honored.
Senior forward Aultain Gaye (Grand Rapids, MI/Grand Rapids Central) and junior goalkeeper Reece Richardson (Halifax, England/Ryburn Valley) were named to the Second Team All-Mideast Region squad.
In his final go-around with the Warriors, Gaye had a career year, leading the team with 10 goals and four assists while finishing top-10 in the conference in points. The First Team All-WHAC selection always seemed to be in the right spot for a big play, coming up with a team-best three game-winners and converted on his only penalty kick of the season.
Gaye finished his career at Tech playing in 53 matches with 21 goals, including seven game-winners, and 11 assists.
Richardson also shined in his second season with the Warriors. The Honorable Mention All-Conference goalkeeper posted seven shutouts with 93 saves while his 0.94 goals against average ranked second in the conference. His tremendous play in net anchored a Tech defense that allowed just 1.00 goals per game, which tied for the league lead.
For the fourth straight season, Indiana Tech finished with at least 10 wins posting a 10-6-3 overall record in 2012 with a 6-2-2 mark in conference play.
