Fort Wayne, IN – The #23 ranked Indiana Tech men’s soccer team kicked-off their 2010 campaign with a convincing win on Monday night against the Foresters of Huntington University, 1-0.
The game was scoreless at the half even though the Warriors dominated possesion and outshot Huntington 8-4. Junior Sam Terman (Mason, MI) broke the tie at the 54 minute mark to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead with an assist from Joe Ishraidi (Lansing, MI). Huntington picked up its attack in the second half, but the Warrior defense tightened up and senior keeper Stephen Putek (Lincoln Park, MI) made several big stops to help Tech hold on for the win.
The Warriors were in control the whole game and outshot the Foresters 21-14. The win gave Tech it's ninth straight victory at home.
The Warriors are back in action Friday, August 27 at 7 p.m. against the University of Saint Francis in the College Soccer Festival at Hefner Fields.
