Winona Lake, IN – The 25th ranked Warriors improved to 4-1 this season with a win over Grace College on Tuesday. Tech defeated the Lancers 2-0 for their third shutout of the season.
The Warriors controlled the game early and found the back of the net in the 25th minute with a goal from sophomore Aultain Gaye (Grand Rapids, MI/Grand Rapids Central HS) assisted from David Shartun (Waterloo, Ontario, Can./Monkseaton HS).
The Lancers had some chances in the second half but were unable to get anything past Tech keeper Steve Putek (Lincoln Park, MI/Lincoln Park HS), finishing with eight saves. Elliott Everson (Horsmonden, UK/Hayesbrook School) put the game away by netting a PK in the 75th minute.
The Warriors are back in action Friday, September 10 when they travel to Saginaw, MI to play against Saginaw Valley State. The game is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
