Saginaw, MI – The Warriors scored to take a 3-2 lead with just over five minutes remaining, but the Cardinals answered less than a minute later to tie the game and send it to overtime where Saginaw Valley State netted the game winner in the 105th minute to knock off the 25th ranked Warriors, 4-3.
The Cardinals got the scoring started just ten minutes into the game to take an early lead and added to their lead two minutes later to go up 2-0.
Senior Benny Saydee (Lansing, MI/Everett HS) cut the deficit to one in the 29th minute and Saginaw Valley State took a 2-1 lead into the half.
The Warriors tied the game at the 62:33 mark with Sam Terman’s (Mason, MI/Mason HS) header off of a corner kick.
Indiana Tech took their first lead of the game when Aultain Gaye (Grand Rapids, MI/Grand Rapids Central HS) scored with just over five minutes left, but the Cardinals got a chance to tie the game on a penalty kick less than a minute later and capitalized to send the game to overtime.
Saydee and Gaye both finished with a goal and assist and Elliott Everson (Horsmonden, England, UK/Hayesbrook) added an assist.
The Warriors will host Taylor University on Wednesday, September 15 at 7 p.m.
