Grand Rapids, MI – The Indiana Tech men’s soccer team fell to the Panthers of Davenport University on Wednesday, 1-0. After a scoreless first 90 minutes, the game went to overtime where the Panthers scored the game winner with only three seconds left in the extra period.
The Warriors had the advantage through the first half, controlling most of the possession but were unable to find the net. Davenport had the edge in the second half and the Panthers outshot Tech in the second with most being long shots that Indiana Tech’s senior keeper Steve Putek (Lincoln Park, MI/Lincoln Park HS) handled with ease.
Elliott Everson (Horsmonden, England/Hayesbrook) fired three shots and Sam Talbot (Halifax, West Yorkshire/Calder HS) and Aultain Gaye (Grand Rapids, MI/Grand Rapids Central HS) each put one shot on goal. Putek recorded 14 saves on the night.
The Warriors return to action on Saturday, October 16 at 1 p.m. when they host Union College for Senior Day.
