Fort Wayne, IN – The Warriors hosted Union College on Saturday for Senior Day and after tough back-to-back overtime losses, the Warriors responded with a 2-1 victory. With the win, Indiana Tech improves to 8-6 overall this season.
The Warriors got the scoring started quickly. With just over two minutes played, Jordan Laufersky (Nunica, MI/Fruitport HS) played a long pass up to Benny Saydee (Lansing, MI/Everett HS) who found fellow senior Michael Lewis (Allen Park, MI/Allen Park HS) for his second goal of the season.
At the 18:02 mark, the Bulldogs took advantage of one of the few opportunities they had and tied the game at 1-1.
Later in the first half, junior Elliott Everson (Horsmonden, England/Hayesbrook) put the Warriors ahead for good with his sixth goal of the year with the assist from Callum Stanley (Hampshire, England). Steve Putek (Lincoln Park, MI/Lincoln Park HS) made seven saves on the day.
The Warriors return to action on Tuesday, October 19 at 4 p.m. against Spring Arbor University for a non-conference matchup.
