Spring Arbor, MI – The Indiana Tech men’s soccer traveled to Spring Arbor on Tuesday night and defeated the Cougars, 3-0. The game was pretty even in the first half with Spring Arbor holding the Warriors scoreless, though being outshot 10-2 and Tech forcing six corner kicks to Spring Arbor’s one.
Junior Elliott Everson (Horsmonden, England/Hayesbrook) got the scoring started for the Warriors at the 55:32 mark with an assist from Zack Maurer. Just one minute later, Everson struck again to give Tech a two goal lead.
In the 67th minute, freshman Jordan Laufersky (Nunica, IN/Fruitport HS) scored in his first career goal with an assist from Mark Baptist (Essex, England/South East Essex College).
Senior keeper Steve Putek (Lincoln Park, MI/Lincoln Park HS) helped Tech record thier fifth shutout of the season, making one save in the first half and freshman Bryan Lynch (Pocatello, ID) played a perfect second half, making three saves.
The Warriors return for conference action on Saturday, October 23 when they host Siena Heights University at 2:30 p.m.
