Fort Wayne, IN – The Indiana Tech men’s soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over Siena Heights University on Saturday. The win marked the third straight for Tech and the sixth shutout of the year, improving the Warriors to 10-6 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
The Saints came out attacking early, outshooting Indiana Tech 5-0 in the first 20 minutes. But the Warriors settled in and took control the rest of the half. Michael Lewis (Allen Park, MI/Allen Park HS) nearly put Tech ahead at the 19:39 mark but his shot hit the post. Just two minutes later, however, Lewis had another chance to give his team the lead and he delivered off a free kick from just outside the box.
That would be all the scoring the Warriors needed as freshman goalie Bryan Lynch (Pocatello, ID) stopped everything that came his way making 10 saves on the day.
The Warriors are back in action on Wednesday, October 27 when they host Aquinas College at 7 p.m.
