Adrian, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men’s soccer team played to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday night at Siena Heights University in conference action.
The tie moved the Warriors to 6-4-2 overall and 2-1-2 in league play while the Saints went to 2-7-3 and 0-4-2 in the WHAC.
The Saints almost got on the board in the 13th minute when a shot hit the crossbar. Tech’s Aultain Gaye (Grand Rapids, MI/Grand Rapids Central) had two shots on goal late in the first half but the SHU keeper made a pair of saves to keep the match scoreless.
Siena Heights put the pressure on in the second half and outshot the Warriors 11-6, but Tech’s Reece Richardson (Halifax, England/Ryburn Valley) was up to the task and made four saves in the period to preserve the shutout and send the match into extra time.
Gaye put the only shot on goal of the overtime periods in the 109th minute but was denied. Richardson finished the night with four saves to record his sixth shutout of the season.
