Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men’s tennis team fell to NCAA DII Tiffin University 7-2 at Swinney Park on Tuesday afternoon in a contest that featured several close matches.

The day started with the Dragons taking two of the three doubles matches, with the lone Warrior win coming from the pair of Sriram Aranganathan (Chennai, India) and Clayton Northey (Livonia, MI/Michigan) at third doubles, 9-8.

The match at second doubles came down to the wire, but TU’s Brian Coffman and Robbie Ball escaped with a 9-8 win over Nicholas Tripanon (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Alberto Tenias (Villahermosa, Mexico).

In singles competition, Tripanon and Tenias, at second and third singles, also had exciting matches. Tripanon edged Luiz Carvalho in a thrilling three-set match, 4-6, 6-3, 16-14. Tenias, after taking the first set 7-6, dropped the next before being outlasted by Kyle Johnson 10-8 in the third-set tiebreaker.

The Warriors finished their Fall schedule with a 3-2 record and will use the offseason to prepare to make a push for a conference championship in the Spring.
