Muncie, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men’s tennis team was defeated by NCAA Division I opponent Ball State University 7-0 on Wednesday night in Muncie, Indiana.
The loss moved the Warriors to 5-4 overall on the year with their second straight setback, but are getting plenty of experience facing quality opponents to prepare for the upcoming conference slate.
At No. 1 singles, Joaquin Ferrando almost forced a decisive third set after dropping the first 6-2, but was defeated 7-5 in the second. Nicholas Tripanon also played well at No. 4 singles, but fell 6-4, 6-2.
In doubles competition, Ferrando and Sriram Aranganathan lost 8-3 at No. 1 while Vinicius Silva and Alberto Tenias fell by the same score at No. 3 position.
The Warriors return to action on Tuesday, Feb. 26 when they face Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan beginning at 5 p.m.
