Match Results
Rensselaer, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men’s tennis team suffered a 7-2 defeat at Saint Joseph’s College in a non-conference match on Saturday.
It was Tech’s fourth straight match against either an NCAA DI or DII opponent and the Warriors now stand at 5-6 on the season following the loss. Saint Joseph’s improved its record to 5-1.
In singles competition, Joaquin Ferrando picked up the lone Warrior win at the No. 1 position. Ferrando downed SJC’s Seth Arthur in a thrilling 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 match. Sriram Aranganathan and Alberto Tenias nearly pulled off victories, but each lost in heartbreaking three set battles.
Ferrando and Aranganathan won an 8-6 decision at No. 1 doubles to earn another point for the Warriors while Nicholas Tripanon and Tenias were edged out by the same score.
The Warriors are back in action on Wednesday, Mar. 13 in Marion, Indiana for a non-conference match with #RV Indiana Wesleyan University beginning at 5 p.m.
