Match Results
Marion, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men’s tennis team suffered a 5-3 defeat at Indiana Wesleyan University in a non-conference match on Thursday night.
The loss dropped the Warriors to 5-7 on the year while Indiana Wesleyan improved to 14-2.
In singles competition, Joaquin Ferrando picked up a win for the Warriors at the No. 1 position. Ferrando downed IWU’s Kyle Johnson in a thrilling 4-6, 6-4, 4-6 match. Fernando Gonzalez was also victorious for Tech with a 7-6, 6-4 win over Leonard Matthews at the No. 2 position.
Gonzalez and his partner Alberto Tenias were victorious in doubles competition. The No. 3 Doubles team beat IWU’s Brooks Ayers and Alex Hornett in a close 8-6 match.
The Warriors are back in action on Wednesday, Mar. 20 in Huntington, Indiana for a non-conference match with Huntington University beginning at 4 p.m.
