@INTechMTennis Mentioned in Preseason Poll for the First Time in School History

POLL | KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Indiana Tech men’s tennis is receiving votes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Coaches' Top 25 Preseason Poll, the national office announced Tuesday. This is the first time the program has received votes in a Top 25 Poll.

Defending national champions Embry-Riddle are ranked No. 1 for the fifth straight poll. In Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference competition, Aquinas came in ranked ninth, Northwestern Ohio 16th and Davenport 24th. Indiana Tech is tied in 31st with Huntington with 12 votes. Cornerstone is ranked behind the Warriors with 3 votes.

The Warriors went 4-1 in the fall season, with wins against Otterbein, Tiffin, Taylor and Saint Francis (Ind.). Several players also represented Indiana Tech in the USTA/ITA East Regional Tournament in Grand Rapids, Mich. in September.

Sophomore Joaquin Ferrando is currently ranked eighth in the ITA East Region and 37th nationally in singles while Senior Sriram Aranganathan is ranked 15th in the East Region.

Indiana Tech begins its spring season on Feb. 8 at Ball State in Muncie, Ind. At 6 p.m.
