Fort Wayne, Ind. – Indiana Tech’s Dontaey Paige (Ft. Wayne, IN/Heritage) earned his second Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor following a record breaking weekend at the SPIRE Midwest Open in Geneva, Ohio.
Paige, a junior from Fort Wayne, took home a pair of first place finishes at the meet, capturing the top spot in the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. His time of 6.82 in the 60 bested a field of 65 runners and just missed breaking the school record of 6.80. Paige would establish a new school standard in the 200 though with a 21.62, beating a field of 80 competitors.
Paige’s times are good enough to rank him top-5 in the NAIA in both events, ranking fourth in the 60 and third in the 200.
The Warrior track & field teams will split the squad this Saturday, Feb. 2 heading to the Indiana Wesleyan University Invitational and the IPFW Mastodon Invitational.
