Warriors Sweep WHAC Indoor Track & Field Honors

Fort Wayne, Ind.Nick Radionoff (Benzie, MI/Benzie Central), Darryl Marlow (Norcross, GA/Chattahoochee Tech), Katelyn Lewis (Brooklyn Park, MN/Osseo), and Stacia Murray (Ft. Wayne, IN/Elmhurst) all nabbed Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards as the Warriors swept the weekly conference honors.

At the Indiana Wesleyan University Invitational, Radionoff recorded a pair of first place finishes to earn WHAC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week. The sophomore from Benzie, Michigan won the 600-meter run in a time of 1:21.12 and was part of the winning 4x800-meter relay team that crossed the line in 8:09.07. He is ranked seventh nationally in the 600.

Marlow, a junior from Norcross, Georgia posted a pair of school records at the IPFW Mastodon Invitational to be named the WHAC Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. He won the long jump with a distance of 7.30 meters and won the triple jump with a mark of 14.63 meters. Marlow is ranked third and fifth nationally in the events.

Also at the Mastodon Invitational, Lewis, a junior from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, ran a season-best 7.57 in the 60-meter dash on her way to a first place finish and the WHAC Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week. She is currently ranked fourth in the NAIA in the event.

Murray was tabbed the WHAC Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week after winning the triple jump at the Mastodon Invitational with a distance of 11.83 meters, which broke her own school record. She also finished second in the long jump with a mark of 5.17 meters. The Fort Wayne native ranks first in the NAIA in the triple jump by more than a foot and a half.

Up next, the Warriors will travel to Allendale, Michigan on Feb. 8 for the Grand Valley State Big Meet in preparation for the WHAC Championships on Feb. 16.
