For Immediate Release
Fort Wayne, Ind. – Indiana Tech is proud to announce the signing of five new athletes to the track and field program – Javan Richardson, Davonta Beckham, Tyler Williams, Alanti Kimbrough-Maxwell, and Dylan Dominello.
Javan Richardson and Davonta Beckham, both of Wayne High School in Huber Heights, Ohio, will be joining the Warriors next fall. Beckham is an accomplished middle distance runner with a personal best of 1:56.79 in the 800. Richardson owns personal bests of 10.89/22.21 and has already run a 7.02 60 dash this indoor season. Both athletes have had great success at both the regional and district level.
Coach Edgar on the pair: "We are very excited about both Javan and Davonta. Both guys have great character and are very hard workers. From the time they spent with our team I know they will fit in immediately. Javan will help solidify one of the best sprint groups in the NAIA and Davonta will be paired with Matt Adair and Nick Radionoff to form a dynamic middle distance group. Both of these guys have great leadership abilities to go along with their track talents. I expect both guys to be able to help us on a national level right away as freshmen."
Tyler Williams from Lee's Summit West High School in Lee's Summit, Missouri has signed on to jump for the Warriors next season. Tyler is accomplished in both the long and triple jump and projects to have huge upside at the college level. Tyler owns career-best of 20-11 and 43-4 respectively.
Coach Edgar on Tyler: "Coach Sharin did a great job working with Tyler. His upside especially in triple along with his strong character is what drew us to him. It's always tough to find good triple jumpers in the Midwest and we think we found a diamond in the rough with Tyler. We are excited to see him grow during his senior year and expect him to help us immediately next season."
Alanti Kimbrough-Maxwell becomes the newest addition to the Lady Warriors. Alanti recently moved from Texas to Anderson Prep Academy in Indiana. While she will compete for Anderson Prep, they are not an IHSAA sanctioned school yet, so she will not be able to compete in the state series. Alanti ran last year at Prosper High School in Prosper, Texas. Alanti ran a season-best 26.29 at the regional meet. Alanti has split 58 for her club team in Texas.
Coach Edgar on Alanti: "We got a lot of help from the coaching staff at Anderson Prep on this one. Alanti immediately connected with our team when she was on campus and should be a great addition to the sprint squad. With the group of athletes she will be training with I would expect her to see major improvements during her freshman year. She reminds me a lot of Jamela Kimbrough and if we can get the same type of development, Alanti will be in for a great career with the Warriors."
The Warriors added to their distance depth with a letter of intent from Dylan Dominello (South Bend, IN/St. Joseph’s). Dominello plans to focus on the 3200m as he finishes his senior year and will compete in cross country and the distance events for Tech.
He boasts personal-bests of 16:38(XC), 4:50(1600), and 10:07(3200).
Coach Wolfe on Dylan: “Dylan has a lot of upside. He comes from a rising program that exposed him to success and doing things the right way. His best event on the track will be the 3200 and he hasn’t had much of a chance to run it; he was stuck behind upperclassmen the past few years and the team needed him to try other events. We think Dylan will break out this spring and emerge out of the shadows of his former teammates. With a big summer, he could contribute as soon as next fall for us. We are thrilled he wants to run with us.”
