FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Indiana Tech Track and Field is proud to announce the signing of Manteno, Ill. native, Jordan Irvin. Irvin becomes the first female student-athlete to sign on for the 2014-15 season and specializes in the throwing events.
Irvin, a Manteno High School product, was a three-year varsity letter-winner for the Panthers, a two-time state qualifier in shot put and two-time sectional champion. She is also a Three-Time All-Conference member, Two-Time All-Area and was Conference Champion in the shot put last season. Irvin has a career mark of 36’11” in the shot put and 101’8” in the discus. Irvin also played volleyball and basketball for the Panthers.
Warrior Head Coach Doug Edgar on Irvin, “We see a high ceiling for Jordan. Without a ton of event specific coaching she has had some great performances at the high school level. She is very athletic and should take well to our training. I would expect to see her challenge the 41-foot mark during her freshman year. She is an exceptional student as well and someone I am proud to have as our first signee for the women’s team this year.”
