FORT WAYNE, IN -- In their first conference match, the Warriors put an end to their 5 game losing streak upsetting Cornerstone 3-0, improving Indiana Tech to 5-6 overall and 1-0 in the conference. All of the Warriors 6 losses are to teams ranked higher in the NAIA National Poll.
The first set of the match saw a slow start from Indiana Tech with the Golden Eagles up 6-1. A slow battle back by the Warriors led to an exciting overtime finish with the Warriors pulling out a 34-32 win over Cornerstone. The Warriors never looked back as they finished out set 2 and 3 with a 25-15, 25-17 score.
Sophomore Ashley Hamilton led the Warriors with another play-making match of 18 kills and 10 digs. Freshman libero Kelsea Nova picked up 11 digs, junior middle blocker Erika Stouder had 7 kills and 6 blocks, and sophomore setter Melanie Forman chipped in 30 assists for the night.
The Warriors travel to Siena Heights on Thursday, September 17 as they face their second conference match of the season.
