Fort Wayne, Ind. – Indiana Tech’s Kelsea Nova (Toledo, OH/Bowsher) led the Warriors to a pair of conference victories last week, and for her efforts has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week.
The senior outside hitter from Toledo, Ohio recorded her second double-double of the season in a convincing 3-0 win over Concordia University on Wednesday night. Nova picked up 10 digs and slammed down 10 kills on 15 swings for an impressive .667 hitting percentage. As a team, the Warriors hit .597 in the match, which is a new school single-match record and ranks 8th all-time in the NAIA.
On Friday night, Nova fell just one kill shy of another double-double, finishing with nine kills and a season-high 23 digs. She added two solo blocks in Tech’s 3-1 victory over Lourdes University.
Nova ranks third on the time with 80 kills and 96 digs this season, and she is tied for the team lead with eight service aces.
The Warriors have won four straight and are now 7-7 on the year with a 3-0 mark in the conference. Up next, Tech travels to Grand Rapids, Michigan on Wednesday, Sept. 26 for a clash with Aquinas College.
