Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Warrior volleyball team made quick work of Lawrence Tech on Wednesday night in the Schaefer Center, with a straight set victory over the Blue Devils 25-12, 25-17, 25-14.
Indiana Tech improved to 20-9 on the year, their seventh straight 20-win season, and 8-1 in the conference, moving them into a three-way tie with the University of Northwestern Ohio and Madonna University at the top of the standings.
Lawrence Tech fell to 9-19 overall and is now 0-9 in their first season in the WHAC.
Kelsea Nova (Toledo, OH/Bowsher) finished with 11 kills to lead the Warriors. Christine Foest (Welland, Ont./Notre Dame HS) hammered down a season-high eight kills while Stacy Nagy (Temperance, MI/Bedford) and Suzanne Taylor (Petersburg, MI/Ida) followed with seven each.
Junior setter Kelsey Fitzpatrick (Holland, OH/Notre Dame Academy) recorded 27 assists and Darcie Faylor (Ft. Wayne, IN/Kishwaukee) scooped up 15 digs. Kelsey Cox (Flushing, MI/Grand Rapids) had a huge night at the net with four solo blocks and two block assists.
Up next, the Warriors travel to Georgetown, Kentucky on Friday for the Georgetown College Boneyard Brawl featuring some of the top teams in the country. Tech will face the No. 11 ranked Georgetown Tigers on Friday to kickoff tournament play followed by #RV Point Park University. The slate won’t get any easier on Saturday, as the Warriors meet No. 15 Indiana University East and Lindsey Wilson College.
