Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech volleyball program has added another Colonel Crawford High School product with the signing of Alex Roberts, a setter from New Washington, Ohio, joining teammate Taylor Kelso who signed with the Warriors earlier this month.
“We are pleased to announce the signing of Alex Roberts,” Warrior Head Coach Kourtney Volkmer said. “She has great potential to push this team to the next level in the game of speed. Roberts has great hands and will be a great asset to the team.”
Alex, a 5-foot-5 setter, will come to Indiana Tech after earning four varsity letters at Colonel Crawford. Throughout her career with the CCHS Eagles, she compiled many awards and accumulated over 1,500 assists. Her sophomore year she made Second Team All-North Central Conference and best server. As a junior, she was Honorable Mention All-NCC and best server, and her senior year she was Second Team All-NCC, best server, and the Max Preps Player of the Week (10/22/2012) for the state of Ohio.
In addition to her success at Colonel Crawford, Alex was also a national champion while playing Junior Olympics in 2011.
“Alex has the passion and desire to succeed and we cannot wait to see what she brings for the next four years,” Volkmer added.
Alex plans to major in Biomedical Engineering while at Indiana Tech.
