Fort Wayne, Ind. – Summerfield High School senior stays in black and orange by signing her Letter of Intent with the Indiana Tech Women’s Basketball Program.
After helping the Bulldogs become District Runner-Ups this season, Emily Herr made her decision to continue as a student-athlete for the Lady Warriors.
Summerfield’s Coach Sweigert says, “Emily will be a great addition to your basketball family. She will never be out-worked or out-hustled. She has the desire and the drive to be a successful basketball player. She is a force down low and is not afraid to get on the floor. Most importantly you are getting a great student-athlete that will make you proud both on the court and in the classroom.”
Emily received the Tri-County Conference Sportsmanship Award last year and was nominated by her teammates this year for the Hustle Award.
After signing Emily stated, “basketball is my passion and I am so glad that Indiana Tech is giving me the chance to continue my passion while learning in a great environment. I am so excited!”
Emily is a great addition to the Indiana Tech Lady Warriors. Coach Lochhead added “Emily is strong post player. Also, she is an impact defender and an aggressive rebounder. The Lady Warriors are proud to add Emily Herr to the Lady Warrior basketball family.”
“With Emily coming aboard, that gives the Indiana Tech women’s program another inside presence. I can definitely understand why her teammates nominated her for the Hustle Award.” Indiana Tech Head Coach Rodney Hamilton stated.
