Fort Wayne, Ind. – Joi McConico joins the Indiana Tech women’s basketball program for the 2012-2013 season. McConico comes out of Lee M. Thurston High School from Redford, Michigan.
Last season, McConico averaged nine points, seven rebounds, three steals, and two assists. She has been All-Conference Honorable Mention for the last two years.
Thurston High School Coach Essiex said about McConico, “Joi is a very energetic player. She is a great ball handler and has complete control of the basketball. She can change the momentum of any game and can adapt to any game situation. The bottom line is she is great all-around player.”
Joi commented on becoming a Lady Warrior, “I’m excited to be joining the Lady Warrior basketball team. I have high hopes for the upcoming season. I have some things I can improve and I’m willing to learn. I’m ready to put the work in."
Indiana Tech Coach Luke Lochhead mentioned that “Joi is great guard combination package. Joi can play any guard position and also possesses great awareness. She can pass, shoot, and is a defensive threat. We are extremely proud to have Joi join the Indiana Tech Lady Warrior family.”
