Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women’s basketball team fell to No. 8 Davenport University 102-64 in the final game of the regular season on Saturday afternoon in the Schaefer Center.
Before the game, the Lady Warriors honored their three seniors Kaneisha Bass, Taylor Brown and Bryn Schlatter for their contributions to the program.
The first-place Panthers (27-2, 20-2 WHAC), who have one of the toughest defenses in the nation as well as an outstanding offense, led by as many as 21 in the first half. Tech battled back though, and despite playing without one of their leading scorers Ulyssia Richmond, the Warriors finished the period on a 20-9 run to trail by just ten at the break, 43-33.
However, the second half was all Davenport outscoring Tech 59-31 and shooting over 70 percent from the field.
Rachael Kruse and Shallante Clements led the way for the Warriors with 14 points apiece, a season-high for Clements. Bass added nine points and five assists.
Indiana Tech will have the 6th-seed and play at 3rd-seeded Siena Heights University in the first round of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
