Fort Wayne, IN – After IPFW opted out of the Fort Wayne Championship this week, it officially became a 54 hole dual match between the University of St. Francis and Indiana Tech.
The Warriors struggled on the first day shooting a team score of 350, trailing the Cougars by 19. Tech bounced back on day two though, firing a 315 and setting a new school record for 18 holes. Megan Garrison (Cutler, IN/Carroll HS) shot the low round of the day with a 76. Kalie Sanders (Greenville, OH/Greenville HS) was right behind her carding a 78 and Alexandra Haskell (Lapeer, MI/Lapeer East HS) had a 79.
Indiana Tech entered the final day trailing by 15 shots, but the cold, windy, and rainy weather made it difficult for both teams. The Cougars finished the tournament with a 1013 while the Warriors shot a 1029.
Garrison finished in first place overall with a 250 for the three rounds. She shot the daily low round on rounds two and three to lead the field. Keerstin Ramsey (Cincinnati, OH/Indian Hill HS) placed fifth overall with a 255 and Haskell was sixth with a 260.
