Springfield, OH – The Indiana Tech women’s golf team placed fifth this weekend at the Wittenberg University Invitational out of 17 teams competing. The Warriors shot 655 as a team, setting a new school record for 36 holes. DePauw University won with a 621 followed by Otterbein College with a score of 638. Wittenberg University rounded out the Top 3 with a 642.
Leading the Warriors was sophomore Megan Garrison (Cutler, IN/Carroll HS) finishing in third place, shooting a 155, which is a new 36-hole individual record at Indiana Tech. She turned in a 79 in round one followed by a 76 in round two. Garrison made the All-Tournament team and was one of only 3 girls out of the 88 participating to break 80 both days.
Freshman Keerstin Ramsey (Cincinnati, OH/Indian Hill HS) finished in a tie for 12th place turning in rounds of 80/82 for a total of 162. Alex Haskell (Lapeer, MI/Lapeer East HS) carded an 86 in round one and came back with an 80 in round two to finish in 22nd place.
Kalie Sanders (Greenville, OH/Greenville HS) finished in a tie for 34th place with a total of 172 and shot six strokes lower on day two (83) than on day one (89).
Andria Schrock (Delta, OH/Pike Delta York HS) and Tina Mettert (New Haven, IN/New Haven HS) both finished tied for 53rd place with scores of 190. Schrock turned in rounds of 98 and 92, while Mettert carded a 97 and 93.
The Warriors wrap up their fall season on October 17-18 when they travel to Dade City, FL for the St. Leo University Invitational.
