Danville, IN – The 2010-11 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Champions opened up their spring schedule on Friday, April 1 at the Purple and White Invite hosted by Capital University. The Indiana Tech women’s golf team stood in fifth place after the first round of competition, shooting a 352.
On Saturday, the Warriors finished the second round with a team score of 360, giving them a 712 for the tournament and tying them with Ohio Northern University in fourth place. Bethel College won the event with a 634 followed by Otterbein University in second place and Baldwin-Wallace College in third.
Sophomore Megan Garrison (Cutler, IN/Carroll) had her eighth Top 10 finish of the year, coming in eighth place overall. Garrison shot an 85 in round one and came back in round two, shooting five shots better with an 80.
Freshman Keerstin Ramsey (Cincinnati, OH/Indian Hill) fired an 82 in round one and turned in a 92 in round two to finish with a 174, good enough for 12th place overall.
Junior Kalie Sanders (Greenville, OH/Greenville) finished in a tie for 26th place carding rounds of 88 and 95 while sophomore Andria Schrock (Delta, OH/Pike Delta York) turned in a 97/93 to place 36th.
The Warriors will return to action on Saturday April 9 at the Katman Classic hosted by DePauw University.
