Franklin, IN – The Indiana Tech women’s golf team finished second on Sunday at the Lady Grizzly Spring Classic hosted by Franklin College at The Legends Golf Club. Tech trailed Franklin College after round one by 15 shots, 333 to 348. Even after Tech fired a team score of 336 in round two, 12 shots better than the previous day, Franklin was able to hold off the charging Warriors for the win.
Franklin finished with a score of 670, Tech followed at 684, and Hanover College rounded out the field with a 723. Sophomore Megan Garrison (Cutler, IN/Carroll), freshman Keerstin Ramsey (Cincinnati, OH/Indian Hill), and junior Kalie Sanders (Greenville, OH/Greenville) all made the All-Tournament Team.
Megan Garrison led the Warriors, tying her own school record of 155 to win the tournament. This was the second individual tournament win in a row for Tech following Kalie Sanders' outstanding performance at the Conference Championship last week.
Keerstin Ramsey finished in fourth place with a 170 after rounds of 86 and 84. Kalie Sanders was right behind her tied for sixth with a 174, carding an 88 and 86.
The Warriors will be back in action on May 17 at the NAIA National Championship at Link Hills CC in Greenville, Tennessee after earning the WHAC’s automatic bid.
