Greenville, TN – The Indiana Tech women’s golf team fired their best round yet on Friday in the final round of the 2011 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships. The Warriors shot a 345, giving them a total tournament score of 1415 earning them 23rd place at the National Championships.
California Baptist defeated Embry-Riddle (Fla.) in a playoff to capture its first-ever National Championship. Shorter (Ga.) finished two shots behind with a 1254 to placed 3rd.
Sophomore Megan Garrison (Cutler, IN/Carroll) shot a final round 84 to finish the tournament in a tie for 61st place individually with a total score of 328. Freshman Keerstin Ramsey (Cincinnati, OH/Indian Hill) was not far behind in 84th place with a 336. Ramsey shot her best round of the championships with an 82 on the final day.
Junior Kalie Sanders (Greenville, OH/Greenville) followed up her 86 in the third round with another 86 in the final round. Sanders placed 110th individually with a total of 361. Freshman Tina Mettert (New Haven, IN/New Haven) also had her best day of the championships, shooting a 93, giving her a 390 and finishing in a tie for 125th place.

The Warriors’ season now comes to an end, but after such an outstanding year that saw the Lady Warriors win their second WHAC Championship and play well in the NAIA National Championships, there’s a lot more success to look forward to with this young Warrior squad.
