South Lyon, MI – The Indiana Tech women’s golf team fired a 344 on Saturday at the final WHAC Jamboree of the year to win the event by eight shots over Siena Heights University. Madonna University rounded out the top-3 scoring a 354.
Madonna was able to hold on to their overall lead in the conference standings to win the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular season championship with 1,724 strokes with Tech coming in second with 1,752. The Crusaders will now host the 2012 WHAC Spring Championship.
Junior Megan Garrison (Burlington, IN/Carroll) led the field with a five-over 77 on the par 72 course to grab top honors for the second time this season. Freshman Julia Browning (Cantrall, IL/Athens) followed with her best finish of the season, tying for 6th place shooting an 85.
Freshman Haley Larson (Enon, OH/Greenon) and senior Kalie Sanders (Greenville, OH/Greenville) rounded out the Tech scoring with matching 91’s to finish in an 11th place tie.
The Warriors return to action on October 10 at Union College in Pineville, Kentucky.
