Pineville, KY – The Indiana Tech women’s golf team held a six shot lead after day one of the Union College Fall Invitational over the host school and were able to hold off the charging Bulldogs on day two to claim first place. The Warriors bettered their round one score of 348 by 13 shots in round two to finish with a 683, followed by Union scoring a 687.
The reigning WHAC Women’s Golfer of the Week Megan Garrison (Burlington, IN/Carroll) made the All-Tournament Team after leading the way for Tech firing a 157 (78/79) to capture her second straight individual win, and her third overall on the year.
Freshman Julia Browning (Cantrall, IL/Athens) finished in the top-10 for the second time this season with her 6th place finish. Browning had her lowest 36-hole score of the year, carding a 172 (88/84). Senior Kalie Sanders (Greenville, OH/Greenville) was right behind her in 7th place shooting a 173 after rounds of 87 and 86.
Junior Katie Clouse (Marion, IN/Grace) and sophomore Tina Mettert (New Haven, IN/New Haven) followed in 13th and 14th place respectively. Clouse scored a 184 and Mettert finished with a 187. Mettert shot her lowest round of the season on day two, shooting an 86.
The Warriors wrap up their fall schedule on October 24-25 at the University of Mobile Fall Classic at Heron Lakes Country Club in Mobile, Alabama.
