Lockbourne, Ohio – The Indiana Tech women’s golf team had a strong start to their spring schedule over the weekend with a fifth place finish at the Capital University Purple and White Invite held at Foxfire Golf Club and Westchester Golf Course in Lockbourne, Ohio.
The Warriors shot 709 (365-344) as a team while No. 15 Bethel College finished with a 637 to win the event.
Junior Megan Garrison (Burlington, IN/Carroll) led the way for Tech with a 36-hole score of 167 to finish in seventh place overall. Garrison shot an opening round 86 before bouncing back with an 81 on day two, recording her ninth top 10 finish of the season.
Senior Kalie Sanders (Greenville, OH/Greenville) finished 29th following a two-round total of 181 (94-85) and freshman Haley Larson (Enon, OH/Greenon) was two shots behind her in a tie for 30th with a score of 181 (93-88).
Indiana Tech returns to action on April 6-7 for the Ashford University Invitational at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside, Iowa.
