Decatur, Ill. – The Indiana Tech women’s golf team placed second out of the 10 team field after the final round of the Millikin University Spring Classic held at Scovill Golf Course in Decatur, Illinois was cancelled due to poor weather conditions.
The Warriors shot a team score of 347 to finish one stroke behind winner Hope College.
Freshman Haley Larson (Enon, OH/Greenon) and junior Megan Garrison (Burlington, IN/Carroll) paced Tech through Friday’s wet and windy weather conditions. Larson finished in second place overall after firing an 82, one stroke off her season-best, and was one shot back of the winner. Garrison followed right behind in third place with an 83.
Freshman Julia Browning (Cantrall, IL/Athens) carded an 85 to tie for sixth place and senior Kalie Sanders (Greenville, OH/Greenville) tied for 28th with a 97 to round out the Warrior scoring.
Up next, the Warriors will compete in the WHAC Championship hosted by Madonna University at Whispering Willows Golf Course in Livonia, Michigan on April 18-19.
