Caledonia, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women’s golf team kept the momentum rolling as it opened conference play with a win on Tuesday at the first WHAC Jamboree of the season hosted by Davenport University at Stonewater Country Club.
The Warriors shot a team score of 329, paced by a top-5 finish by three golfers, to hold off second-place Aquinas College by six shots. Madonna University followed in third place with a 344.
The reigning WHAC Golfer of the Week, senior Megan Garrison (Cutler, IN/Carroll), turned in another solid performance to lead the Warriors. Garrison shot a nine-over 80 to finish tied for second overall.
Freshman Lizzie Campbell (Sydney, Australia/Sceggs Redlands) is making an immediate impact for Tech. After a second place finish in her collegiate debut over the weekend, Campbell turned in an 81 for a fourth place finish today. Sophomore Haley Larson (Enon, OH/Greenon) landed in fifth with an 82.
Freshman Rachel George (Gahanna, OH/Gahanna Lincoln) and junior Christina Mettert (New Haven, IN/New Haven) finished just outside the top-10 in 11th place with rounds of 86.
The Warriors are back in action this weekend at the Hanover College Invitational. The first round on Saturday will be played at Sunrise Golf Club in Madison, Indiana followed by round two at Shadowood Golf Club in Seymour, Indiana on Sunday.
