Fort Wayne, Ind. – For the second consecutive week, Indiana Tech’s Megan Garrison (Cutler, IN/Carroll) has earned Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week honors.
The senior standout led the Warriors to a pair of wins last week at the WHAC Jamboree #1 and the Hanover College Invitational. The victories gave Tech three straight tournament wins, a feat that has never been accomplished before in the history of the program.
At the WHAC Jamboree on Tuesday, Garrison led the team to a six-shot win. She finished in a tie for second place overall, just one stroke back of the winner, after shooting an 80.
Then over the weekend, Garrison had a record setting performance at the Hanover Invitational on the way to posting her second individual win of the season. She began the tournament by shooting a 72 to set a new school standard for 18-holes, besting Jordan Essman’s previous mark of 73 set in 2008. Garrison followed it up the next day by shooting a 76 to give her a 148 total, which shattered her own school record for 36-holes by five shots.
In addition to her individual records, she helped the team tie the school’s all-time low team score for 36-holes at 655.
The Warriors are back in action on Sept. 21-22 at the WHAC Jamboree #2 hosted by Madonna University and Concordia University.
