Comstock Park, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women’s golf team shot a 339 to finish third at the WHAC Jamboree #3 hosted by Aquinas College at Scott Lake Country Club on Thursday.
Madonna University placed four individuals in the top six on their way to winning the event with a 320 and Aquinas followed with a team score of 324.
Tech’s third place finish dropped them out of the top spot in the conference standings, falling to third place behind Aquinas and Madonna and are eight strokes off the Saints’ pace.
Leading Indiana Tech was freshman Lizzie Campbell (Sydney, Australia/Sceggs Redlands), who shot an 82 and landed in eighth place overall to earn her fifth top-10 finish of the season. Sophomore Haley Larson (Enon, OH/Greenon) came in right behind her in ninth place after carding an 83.
Senior Megan Garrison (Cutler, IN/Carroll) and sophomore Julia Browning (Cantrall, IL/Athens) placed 16th and turned in matching scores of 87. Freshman Rachel George (Gahanna, OH/Gahanna Lincoln) finished in 21st with an 89 and junior Christina Mettert (New Haven, IN/New Haven) came in 32nd with a 94.
The Warriors will look to make a push for their third conference title in the last five years when they return to the course on Wednesday, Oct. 3 for the final WHAC Jamboree of the year hosted by Tech at Coyote Creek Golf Club in Fort Wayne.
