Fort Wayne, Ind. – Following Friday’s round of 355, the Indiana Tech women’s golf team bounced back with a 341 through tough windy conditions on Saturday to climb three spots and finish fourth at the University of Saint Francis Cougar Spring Invitational held at Brookwood Golf Club.
The Warriors finished with a total team score of 696. Madonna University won the event with a total team score of 656. Aquinas College came in second with a 661 and Olivet Nazarene University finished third with a 671.
Rachel George led the way for the Warriors, earning her second top-10 finish of the season. George shot an opening round 85 before firing a season-low 81 to land in ninth place with a 36-hole total of 166. Megan Garrison placed 13th overall with a 172. After carding an 89 to open the tournament, she bounced back with an 83.
Rounding out the scoring for Tech was Tina Mettert, Haley Larson, and Julia Browning. Mettert finished 23rd with a 180 (89/91). Larson placed 28th with a 182 (96/86) and Browning was 35th with a 185 (92/93).
