RESULTS | SOUTH BEND, Ind. –The Indiana Tech women’s golf team recorded its third straight top-five finish in as many tournaments with a second place finish at The Battle at Blackthorn after carding a final round 319 on Saturday at the Blackthorn Golf Club.
With the team fell to host Bethel, Wiebke Schlender was able to fire another 75 to win her second consecutive individual title with a 150, six over par. Tamina Römer finished third with a 156 (81-75) and Courtney Dye continued to play well as she recorded her third top-10 finish in as many tournaments carding a 36-hole total of 162 (82-80), tied for eighth.
Rachel George shaved four strokes off her first round score to finish with a 173 (84-80) while Haley Larson concluded the scoring for the Warriors with a two round total of 194 (97-97).
Bethel won the event with a 637 after carding a final round 310, while Tech finished four shots back with a 641 (322-319). Fellow WHAC schools in Madonna (661) and Aquinas (670) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, while Olivet Nazarene tied Aquinas for fifth.
The Warriors return to the links on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. when they take part in the WHAC Jamboree #1, hosted by Siena Heights, at the Lenawee Country Clun in Adrian, Mich.
